Distribution of emissions MENA 2023, by country
In 2023, Saudi Arabia made up 37 percent of the total emissions amongst nine countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This was more than double Egypt's share of emissions in the region which had 18 percent. Bahrain had the smallest share of emissions in the Gulf Cooperation Council, whereas Tunisia had the lowest overall share of emissions in MENA, at two percent.
