Labor force participation in the U.S. is expected to decline the most drastically in the 16- to 19-year-old age group. Participation rates have and are projected to hold steady for 25-to-54-year olds. The labor force participation rate is expected to increase to 29.9 percent by 2033 for those aged 65 to 74, as the retirement age in the U.S. increases from 66 to 67. Interestingly, participation for those 75 and older is expected to nearly double between 2002 and 2032.
