Voter turnout in South Korea's presidential elections 1987-2022, by gender
In South Korea's presidential elections, voter turnout was high in the 1990s but has slowly declined over the past two decades. In the 20th presidential election in 2022, turnout was 77.1 percent, the second-highest since 1997. There were no significant differences in turnout between men and women. South Korea's president is elected directly for a five-year term. The president is not eligible for re-election.
