Having defeated Miami Heat 4-2 in the 2020 NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers clinched their 17th NBA championship, drawing level with the Boston Celtics for the most NBA titles of all time. Each year during the NBA Finals, the Most Valuable Player Award is given to the player who had the biggest impact on the championship according to a panel of eleven media members. Michael Jordan won the MVP award a record six times with the Chicago Bulls between 1991 and 1998. In 2020, LeBron James became the first player to win the award with three different franchises. He won the trophy twice with Miami Heat, once with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and most recently with the Los Angeles Lakers.
